Mercury was the ancient Roman's messenger god who protected merchants and travelers. Often interchangeable with the Greek god Hermes, Mercury wore a helmet that had wings sprouting from either side. This helmet helped the god to move around the world and the universe at a rapid pace, and is pictured on the head of these 1 ounce Mercury Silver Rounds.
Round Highlights:

- Obverse: Displays a left-facing portrait of Lady Liberty wearing Mercury's winged cap. Above the capped Liberty head is the inscription, "Liberty," and under Liberty's chin is stamped, "In God We Trust."
